Bedroom curtain design ideas 2011

Every bedroom deserves beautiful window curtains. They don’t need to be something which just keeps out the light so you can get a good night’s sleep!
The bedroom is a room where you can be yourself so it’s great if the whole dĂ©cor makes you feel relaxed and happy. Here are eight ideas for gorgeous classic bedroom curtains.

1. Floor length and Full
Choose floor length curtains for your bedroom and pinch pleat or goblet headings to give a feeling of opulence using the fullness of the fabric. Alternatively a simply heading on the curtain topped with a valence or pelmet would also look good.
2. Add Voile
For more privacy during the day add a sheer voile under curtain on a rod across the top of the window. You can now buy voile in many shades and patterns but choose something subtle but with great detail for an understated yet pretty look.
3. Add Edgings
Plain curtains are often less expensive than patterned fabrics. Give them the designer touch with an expensive trim such as beading or fringing in a contrasting color. Trim your tiebacks too using the same edging.
4. Add a Border
You can add a contrasting border to a plain curtain with wide plain or velvet ribbon. A double border using two ribbons of different yet toning colors and widths look good too.
5. Add Volume
Nothing looks cheaper than curtains which are not full enough – always go for a cheaper fabric which drapes well and provide more volume rather than a more expensive fabric where you have to compromise on the width of curtain panel or length of curtains. If two and a quarter to two and a half times the width of your windows is required for a particular look go for two and a half and don’t think two will do!
6. Add a Contrast Lining
Instead of plain white or cream linings add a pretty contrast lining which you can show off by tying the curtains back to the sides of the windows. If you use tie tops you can even use these as reversible curtains.
7. A Simple Swag
If you have a narrow window you can add a simple swag with a length of hemmed fabric looped over a curtain rod and loosely stitched into place. Hang the curtains themselves on a separate rod so that the swag does not get in the way of operating the curtains.
8. Decorative Finials and Hold Backs
Don’t spoil the effect you are looking for by using plain curtain rods. Choose rods which come with or have the option of great finials – you can get these in many shapes and materials and consider using matching holdbacks if your curtains don’t have tie backs.

Italian bedroom decoration style 2011

The Italian bedroom design is usually very warm, romantic and sophisticated. To create this special atmosphere, choose an antique head board made of oak or mahogany for your bed. You can also hang around your windows rich tapestry drapes and expose silver candle sticks or a copper pot full of perfumed rosemary on the bedside tables.

Candice Olson Decorating Ideas 2011 , Kitchen , Dining room , Bathroom , Bedroom , Living room

Can't you just picture coming downstairs to the smell of coffee in your chic kitchen? Even though it isn't huge the space is really used well. I love the glass door cabinets and dark counter-tops. The fridge gives it a sleek look but the little touches like the green stools and cute lamp keep it more traditional and warm. The great thing about these types of designs is they look beautiful but it's nothing the average person couldn't do with a little elbow grease.

This dining room is a dream! Soft powdered blues and cremes are so serene and calming. It would be lovely to have a fireplace in your dining room to roar while you have your family dinners. The detail on the chairs is phenomenal as well. It's a solid light blue on the seat but the back has a pretty pattern upholstered on it and the rug below matches perfectly with the whole scene. Bon appetite!

I think this bathroom would be like having your very own spa in your house. Lots of dark finishes and stone looking tiles with a large soaker tub make it feel classic and comfortable. I think the floating counter is a really interesting look and the white coral accessory is the perfect touch. Give me my glass of wine and dim the lights because I'm ready for a soak!

This massive bedroom is the size of my entire apartment! It's so warm and inviting and the vaulted ceiling gives it a unique architectural touch that draws the eye. A bedroom is your sanctuary so it should be a representation of you and whatever makes you comfortable. A fireplace in the bedroom is so romantic and a chaise always looks like a luxurious place to flop down with a good book. I would love to retire to this paradise every night.

This is a basement hang out Candice did on a more recent episode and I am digging everything about it. It's such a warm colour pallet but it's practical at the same time. One thing that always drives me crazy is when designers fill a room with white furniture. Of course it looks beautiful but will it after your dark furred kitty has rolled around on it and the kids have spilled their juice or the dust settles and it just looks grubby? A dark couch helps you to feel less neurotic about spills and messes. The recessed lighting really works well here with a few lamps and sconces and the neutral rug ties everything together. Pop in your favorite movie and cuddle up with the ones you love!

Guest Bedroom Pictures 2011 " HGTV Dream Home 2011 "

The guest suite, located on HGTV Dream Home's lower level, is inspired by boutique hotel room design.

Touches of metallics brighten the space, which features dark walls and limited natural light.

"If you look outside at the stone around the fire pit," says interior designer Linda Woodrum, "you'll notice that the colors in that stone foundation are replicated in the bedroom colors."

Synthetic, easy-care upholstery fabrics mimic the look of luxurious wool and mohair.

Steel floor lamps in a polished-nickel finish add an industrial edge to the guest space.

A glass urn holds a bouquet of white snowball lilacs and hydrangea, a pleasant reminder of springtime during the coldest winter months.

Pendant lights with drum shades flank the queen-size bed. Chrome and glass side tables topped with greenery and black-and-white photography lend an urban design sensibility.

A design vignette at the entrance to the guest bedroom hints at the room's color palette and design scheme. Glicees on paper by artist Charles Sabec capture one's attention.

Italian linens and contemporary furnishings, including a platform bed crafted from Appalachian hardwoods, elevate the guest room design.

You’ve seen them drawn on every teenager’s diary, piece of paper or bumper sticker. And it’s a known fact: young ladies love hearts. Which is why these six bedrooms below all feature heart themed furniture. The colors are also typical for teen girls (pink, light green, yellow, red, baby blue). Chairs, pillows, bed covers, nothing escaped the mighty heart-shaped plan. Some of these interiors are a bit too crowded for our tastes, but then again, it is not us who the manufacturers target.
